Fri Nov 15 06:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Denzel Washington’s “Gladiator II” Kiss Cut From Film
**LOS ANGELES, CA** – Denzel Washington, known for his powerful performances, has revealed a surprising detail about his upcoming film, “Gladiator II.” In an interview with Gayety, Washington discussed his role as Roman emperor Macrinus, sharing that a scene involving a passionate kiss with another male character was ultimately cut from the film.
“I actually kissed a man in the film, but they took it out,” Washington stated, adding, “I think they got chicken.”
Washington went on to describe the kiss, saying, “I kissed a guy full on the lips,” and joked that his character killed the other character shortly after, making it a “kiss of death.”
Though the reason for the cut scene remains unclear, Washington’s comments have sparked conversation about the film’s portrayal of Roman history and the evolution of LGBTQ+ representation in mainstream cinema.
Meanwhile, “Gladiator II” co-star Paul Mescal shared a similar story about a kiss he shared with Pedro Pascal during a rehearsal. Mescal’s spontaneous forehead kiss was met with silence from director Ridley Scott before finally receiving the message, “I’m afraid I did.”
“Gladiator II,” directed by Ridley Scott, is set to hit theaters on November 22.
