Dehradun, Uttarakhand: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of six young adults, including three women, and left one critically injured in Dehradun on Tuesday. The accident occurred when the speeding car they were traveling in crashed into a container truck near ONGC Chowk.

The car, a newly purchased Innova, was driven by Atul Agrawal, who was returning from a party with his friends. CCTV footage revealed the vehicle accelerating sharply just before the crash. Police suspect the driver may have been attempting to overtake another vehicle at high speed. The MUV, which was without number plates, collided with the truck’s left side from behind, resulting in the deaths of six occupants.

The deceased have been identified as Kunal Kukreja, Atul Agrawal, Rishabh Jain, Navya Goel, Kamakshi, and Guneet. The seventh occupant, Siddhesh Agrawal, is in critical condition at Synergy Hospital.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed grief at the loss of lives, offering condolences to the bereaved families.

The accident highlights the dangers of speeding and reckless driving. Police are investigating the incident and are looking into legal alternatives since the driver did not survive.
