Fri Nov 15 01:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Mangaluru Court Adjourns Hearing on Bail Application in Suicide Case
**Mangaluru, November 15, 2024:** The Mangaluru district and sessions court has adjourned the hearing on the bail application filed by Shyamala Bhat (61) and her daughter Kanmani G. Rao (36) till November 16. The two women were arrested on November 11 for their alleged involvement in the conspiracy that led to the suicide of 32-year-old Kartik Bhat on a railway track on November 8.
The bail application was filed under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and was transferred from the Principal District and Sessions Court, Dakshina Kannada, to the IV Additional District and Sessions Court on Thursday.
During the first hearing, the court issued notice to the prosecution and scheduled the next hearing on November 16 for the filing of objections to the bail application.
The Mulky police arrested Shyamala and Kanmani following a complaint filed by Kartik’s mother-in-law, Savitri Jagadeesh Kumar.
The incident occurred in the Mulky police station limits, where Kartik’s body was found on the railway track on November 8. Tragically, on November 9, the police discovered his wife, Priyanka, and son, Hriday, dead in their home in Pakshikere.
