Thu Nov 14 09:10:43 UTC 2024: ## Congress and BJP Trade Accusations in Karnataka and Maharashtra Ahead of Elections

**Kalaburagi, Karnataka (ANI):** The ongoing political battle between the Congress and BJP heated up on Wednesday as both parties traded accusations in the lead-up to crucial state elections.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused the BJP of making false promises to the people, specifically highlighting their unfulfilled promise to double the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Kharge asserted that the Congress government in Karnataka is fulfilling its pre-election guarantees, pointing to the free bus travel for women as an example.

In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued his attacks on the Congress, this time focusing on poll-bound Maharashtra. He alleged that the Congress government in Karnataka was “looting” people and using that money to fund elections in Maharashtra. Modi called for the Congress to be kept away from power in Maharashtra to prevent further alleged corruption.

Modi also lauded the development works being done by the BJP-led government in Maharashtra, particularly in Pune, emphasizing its focus on middle-class development and attracting foreign investment.

The escalating rhetoric between the Congress and BJP reflects the intense competition for power in both Karnataka and Maharashtra. Both parties are using these accusations as a key strategy in their campaigns, aiming to sway voters in the upcoming elections.
