Thu Nov 14 09:10:57 UTC 2024: ## Former CIA employee charged with leaking highly classified Israeli intelligence

**Guam, USA** – A former CIA employee, Asif W. Rahman, has been charged with leaking highly classified US intelligence about Israel’s plans for retaliation against Iran, according to court documents and a person familiar with the case.

Rahman was indicted last Thursday for willfully retaining and transmitting national defense information. He was arrested on Tuesday in Cambodia and will initially appear in court in Guam. The Justice Department has requested a federal judge transfer him to Virginia for trial.

The leaked documents, marked “top secret” and intended only for the US and its “Five Eyes” allies (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom), were posted on a Telegram account called “Middle East Spectator” in mid-October.

One document, compiled by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, discusses a plan involving Israel moving munitions. Another, sourced to the National Security Agency, outlines Israeli Air Force exercises involving air-to-surface missiles.

One document also suggests, for the first time publicly, that Israel possesses nuclear weapons. However, it states that the US has not seen any indications that Israel plans to use nuclear weapons against Iran.

Rahman, who held a top secret security clearance and access to sensitive compartmentalized information, is facing serious charges for compromising national security. The Justice Department is now pursuing the case in Virginia.
