**New Delhi, India** – India continues to climb the global higher education ladder, with two Indian institutions cracking the top 50 in the recently released QS World University Rankings 2025.

**IIT Delhi** emerged as the top Indian institution, securing the 44th spot globally, a jump from last year’s 46th ranking. The institute’s impressive 99% employer reputation score contributed significantly to its climb.

Closely following, **IIT Bombay** secured the 48th position, with a strong 99.5% employer reputation score and 96.6% academic reputation score.

**University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES)** witnessed the most remarkable improvement amongst Indian universities, soaring 70 spots to reach the 148th position.

**Seven Indian institutions** secured a place within the top 100, highlighting the country’s growing academic prowess. Other notable performers include **IIT Madras (56), IIT Kharagpur (60), Indian Institute of Science (62), IIT Kanpur (67), and University of Delhi (81).**

The **University of Delhi** saw a notable improvement, climbing from 94th to 81st position, particularly driven by its impressive 96.4% score in the International Research Network indicator.

**Anna University** achieved a perfect 100 score in the Papers Per Faculty indicator, showcasing its outstanding research output.

The rankings further emphasize the high standards of education and teaching in India, with **around 15 universities scoring above 99% in the staff with PhD indicator**.

**North Eastern Hill University** and **University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore** secured a perfect 100 score in the faculty-student indicator, signifying their exceptional academic credibility.
