Tue Nov 12 12:08:23 UTC 2024: ## Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2024: 5-Star Safety Rating Makes It a Top Choice
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire, India’s fourth best-selling car, has received a major upgrade for 2024. This time around, Maruti Suzuki has gone beyond the usual, delivering a car that not only boasts a new design and features, but also secures a 5-star safety rating in crash tests. This marks the first Maruti Suzuki car to achieve this milestone.
The new Dzire comes with a refreshed design, featuring LED lights both front and rear, 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, a more flowing shape, and a larger 9-inch touchscreen. The steering wheel has also been redesigned, although the dials, while clear, aren’t digital like in the Swift. The dashboard is clean and simple, offering ample storage space.
One of the most impressive features is the addition of a sunroof and a 360-degree camera with an HD display, a feature not usually found in cars of this size. Other notable features include climate control, connected car technology, cruise control, and rear AC vents. The spaciousness remains similar to the previous generation, but the seats are now more comfortable.
The new Dzire comes in four variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+. Maruti has kept the car within the 4-meter range, measuring 3995 mm in length and 2450 mm in width. It boasts a ground clearance of 163 mm and a boot space of 382 liters.
The price for the new Dzire starts at INR 6.79 lakh and goes up to INR 10.14 lakh for the top-end AMT variant. The car is powered by a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine, coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission. An automatic transmission option is also available. Maruti claims a mileage of 24.79 kmpl for the manual transmission and 25.71 kmpl for the automatic.
While the new Dzire excels in design, safety, space, features, and efficiency, the engine lacks the power of its previous generation. However, its 5-star safety rating and plethora of features make it a strong contender in its segment.
