**Lahore, Pakistan** – Pakistan’s second-largest city, Lahore, is grappling with a severe smog crisis, with pollution levels hitting record highs this month. The city, home to 14 million people and a large industrial sector, regularly ranks among the world’s most polluted, but the current situation has reached alarming levels, causing severe health concerns for residents.

The toxic smog, a mixture of industrial emissions, vehicle exhaust, and agricultural stubble burning, has blanketed the city, leading to stinging eyes, burning throats, and respiratory problems. Air quality readings have consistently exceeded 1,000 on the Air Quality Index (AQI), considered “hazardous” to health.
