Sat Nov 09 19:50:00 UTC 2024: ## West Indies Recall Four Senior Players for England T20 Series

**BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS:** The West Indies Cricket Board has announced a squad for the first two T20 Internationals against England, starting on November 9th. Notably, four senior players who missed the recent Sri Lanka series – Nicholas Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer, Andre Russell, and Akeal Hosein – have been recalled.

The return of these veterans comes at the cost of Fabian Allen, Alick Athanaze, Andre Fletcher, and Shamar Springer, who have been omitted from the squad.

The selection comes amidst controversy, with fast bowler Alzarri Joseph missing out due to a two-match suspension. Joseph received the suspension after displaying dissatisfaction with the field set for him during the third ODI against England, resulting in him storming off the field before returning.

Replacing Joseph is Matthew Forde, who was named player of the series in the recent ODI series against England.

The West Indies batting lineup boasts a strong combination of experience and power, with the inclusion of Shai Hope, Pooran, Hetmyer, Brandon King, Evin Lewis, and captain Rovman Powell. All-rounders Russell, Roston Chase, Romario Shepherd, and Sherfane Rutherford further strengthen the batting unit.

The pace attack will be led by Shamar Joseph, Terrance Hinds, and Matthew Forde, while Hosein and Gudakesh Motie will provide spin options.
