Fri Nov 08 01:00:00 UTC 2024: ## 19-Year-Old Arrested for Fatal Shooting in Harbor East
**Baltimore, MD** – A 19-year-old Washington, D.C. resident, identified as Quontay Spinks, was arrested last week and charged with first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of 36-year-old Antonio Peoples in Harbor East earlier this year.
The shooting occurred on September 14th outside of The Ruxton steakhouse on Aliceanna Street. Surveillance footage revealed that Peoples was standing with his girlfriend when a vehicle pulled up and individuals exited, pointing firearms at him. According to police documents, the suspects attempted to rob Peoples, who resisted. The suspects then opened fire and fled the scene. Peoples later died at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Spinks was identified after police reviewed the surveillance footage. He was subsequently arrested and served with warrants for an October armed carjacking case and a separate attempted murder case from September.
Spinks was ordered to remain held without bond following a hearing at Baltimore City District Court. The case remains an active investigation, and police have not confirmed if they are seeking other suspects.
The shooting, which took place in a popular tourist and resident area, prompted an increase in security presence in Harbor East. The case underscores the ongoing issue of violence in Baltimore City.
