Fri Nov 08 15:04:54 UTC 2024: ## Champions Trophy 2025 to be Held in Hybrid Model Due to India’s Security Concerns

**Lahore, Pakistan** – The highly anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled for February-March next year in Pakistan, faces a potential hurdle due to India’s refusal to send its team to the country. The Indian government has yet to grant permission for the team to travel to Pakistan, citing security concerns. This has prompted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to agree to a hybrid model for the tournament.

The proposed hybrid model will see India play its matches in either Dubai or Sharjah, UAE, if the team cannot travel to Pakistan. The PCB has reportedly requested a written assurance from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding the Indian government’s decision on Pakistan travel.

The ICC delegation will be in Lahore from November 10-12 to inspect preparations for the tournament. The official schedule, including dates, venues, and timings of all matches, is expected to be announced on November 11.

The Champions Trophy, a prestigious eight-team tournament, is set to be held from February 19th to March 9th, 2025. The tournament will feature 15 matches, with Group A including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B comprises England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan.

The key matches of the tournament will be hosted in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi, with the final scheduled to take place on March 9th in Lahore. The hybrid model, however, could alter the initial plans, potentially moving some of the matches to the UAE.
