**CHENNAI, INDIA -** An Air India flight bound for New Delhi experienced an 11-hour delay at Chennai Airport on Friday due to a technical issue. The flight, carrying 164 passengers, was initially scheduled to depart at 9:00 am but was grounded after encountering a technical glitch.
Passengers were kept waiting in the terminal while the airline worked to resolve the problem. While initial hopes were for a quick turnaround, the departure time was repeatedly pushed back. To minimize inconvenience, most of the passengers were rebooked on other flights.
However, eleven passengers opted to wait for the original flight, which finally took off around 8:00 pm.
“We provided refreshments and food to the passengers,” said an airline source. “We understand that this caused significant inconvenience, but we did our best to address the issue as quickly as possible.”
