Fri Nov 08 16:45:17 UTC 2024: ## India’s Participation in Champions Trophy 2025 Uncertain: Ex-Pakistani Batsman Claims 70% Confirmation

The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to be held in Pakistan, but the Indian team’s participation remains uncertain. While the tournament is set to be hosted by Pakistan, there is no official confirmation on whether the Indian team will tour the nation.

Former Pakistani batsman, Basit Ali, expressed his confidence in India’s participation, claiming it’s 70% confirmed. In a statement on his YouTube channel, he said, “Get ready to host India in Lahore. Be welcoming just like we were in India. It’s 70% confirmed, there’s been talk with the BCCI. Now it’s in the hands of the Indian Prime Minister. Whether he says ‘yes’ (to play in Lahore) or ‘no’, a hybrid model will be adopted.”

Ali further added, “We are 70% sure of hosting India in Lahore. The schedule for the Champions Trophy will be released on November 11th. Our people, who love Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah, will get to see them up close. Applaud them if they play well and don’t mistreat them if they don’t.”

Earlier reports suggested a possible hybrid model for the tournament, with India potentially playing all their matches in the UAE. However, no official information has been released regarding this.

It’s worth noting that India’s last tour of Pakistan was in 2008. Since then, the Pakistani team has toured India on multiple occasions, including the 2023 ODI World Cup.

The Indian government’s decision on whether to allow the team to tour Pakistan will play a crucial role in the Champions Trophy 2025.
