**New Delhi:** Renowned folk singer Sharda Sinha, known for her soul-stirring renditions of Chhath songs, is currently battling for her life in Delhi’s AIIMS hospital. The singer, who was already in shock following the recent demise of her husband Brij Kishore Sinha, has been admitted to the hospital for several days and is now on a ventilator.

This was confirmed by her son, Anshuman Sinha, in a live video message on her official YouTube channel. He described the situation as “very difficult” and appealed to fans and well-wishers to pray for her recovery.

“This is true. My mother is on a ventilator. I have signed the consent form. Please keep praying. This is a huge fight. It’s very difficult, very difficult this time. Just pray that she recovers. This is real update. I just met her. Pray to Chhathi Maiya. The doctors said her condition deteriorated suddenly. They are trying their best,” said a visibly emotional Anshuman.

Sinha, known for her melodious voice and contribution to Indian folk music, was awarded the Padma Shri in 1992, the Padma Bhushan in 2006, and the Padma Vibhushan in 2018. She has also sung popular Bollywood songs like “Kahe To Se Sajana” from “Maine Pyar Kiya,” “Babul” from “Hum Aapke Hain Koun,” and “Tar Bijli Se Patle” from “Gangs of Wasseypur 2.”
