**Darbhanga, Bihar:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Darbhanga on November 13th to lay the foundation stone for the highly anticipated All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the region. The announcement was made by Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary during a recent event in Patna.

The event will also be attended by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The AIIMS project is seen as a major step towards addressing the healthcare needs of North Bihar, a region known for its challenges, particularly flooding.

“The weakness of North Bihar is flood water, and hence Prime Minister Modi is working to address this issue,” stated Choudhary. He further emphasized that preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit are underway to ensure a smooth event.

The Bihar government had earlier transferred 150.13 acres of land at the Ekmi-Shobhan bypass to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in August. This land transfer marks a significant milestone in the AIIMS Darbhanga project, which was approved by the Union Ministry in July.

The project will bring advanced healthcare facilities to North Bihar, reducing reliance on distant facilities and addressing the region’s high demand for improved medical infrastructure.

The establishment of AIIMS Darbhanga is expected to significantly improve access to high-quality medical care for the residents of North Bihar.
