**New Delhi, November 4, 2024:** The Indian Premier League’s (IPL) highly anticipated mega auction will take place in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh, in the last week of November, sources within the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed on Monday.
The auction is scheduled for November 24th and 25th, and franchises have been notified of the change of venue. This year’s auction is significant as it features star Indian players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Arshdeep Singh, all set to be up for bids.
With a total of ₹641.5 crore to spend across 204 available slots, 70 of which are reserved for overseas players, the 10 franchises will be competing fiercely. Despite prior retentions by the franchises totaling ₹558.5 crore, 46 players remain available for the auction.
This move to Riyadh marks a significant expansion of the IPL’s global reach, bringing the cricketing spectacle to a new audience in the Middle East.
