Fri Nov 01 23:20:36 UTC 2024: ## Textile Recycling Takes a Leap Forward with New Partnership

**New York, NY** – Circ, a leading US-based textile-to-textile recycling innovator, and Birla Cellulose, a global leader in man-made cellulosic fibers, have announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the adoption of fiber recycling within the textile industry.

This five-year collaboration will see Birla Cellulose purchase up to 5,000 tonnes of pulp annually from Circ’s first commercial-scale operation. This pulp will then be converted into lyocell staple fiber, significantly increasing the availability of recycled materials and helping Circ expand its operations.

“Our partnership with Birla Cellulose, a major player in the MMCF market, is a testament to the industry’s commitment to a truly circular economy and Circ’s continued progress towards scalability,” said Peter Majeranowski, CEO of Circ.

Dr. Aspi Patel, Chief Technology Officer of Grasim Industries Limited, echoed this sentiment, stating, “This collaboration is a crucial step in fostering innovation in the textile sector and exemplifies our strong commitment to environmental stewardship. By combining our cellulosic fibers with Circ’s cutting-edge recycling technology, we are significantly advancing the possibility of a truly circular economy.”

This strategic partnership is expected to have a significant impact on the textile industry, promoting sustainable practices and reducing reliance on virgin materials. It also signals a growing trend toward closed-loop systems and a commitment to a more circular future.
