**Mumbai, India** – Birla Cellulose, a leading producer of Man-Made Cellulosic Fibre (MMCF), and Circ, a textile recycling innovator, have announced a long-term strategic partnership to accelerate the use of recycled fibers in the textile industry.

The agreement will see Birla Cellulose purchase up to 5,000 tons of Circ’s recycled pulp per year for the next five years. This pulp will be used to produce lyocell staple fiber, a sustainable alternative to traditional fibers.

“This partnership is a significant step towards a more sustainable fashion future,” said Peter Majeranowski, CEO of Circ. “By working together, we can create a truly circular economy for textiles.”

Dr. Aspi Patel, Chief Technology Officer of Grasim Industries, which owns Birla Cellulose, echoed this sentiment, stating, “This collaboration reflects our deep commitment to environmental stewardship and represents a crucial step in advancing innovation within the textile industry.”

The partnership is driven by the increasing demand for eco-friendly options in the fashion industry. By securing a steady supply of recycled materials, Birla Cellulose can offer its customers a sustainable choice, while Circ can scale its operations and meet the growing demand.

“With the appetite for recycled materials outpacing the current supply, this partnership ensures that our customers have access to high-quality recycled lyocell,” said Dr. Patel.

Both companies are committed to promoting circular economy practices and reducing their environmental impact through innovative technology and material reuse. They are confident that this partnership will set new benchmarks in the textile industry and pave the way for a more sustainable future.
