Sat Nov 02 11:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Kohli Achieves Historic Milestone During India’s 1st Innings In Mumbai Test

**Mumbai, India:** Veteran batsman Virat Kohli achieved a significant milestone during the ongoing 3rd Test match between India and New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. As Kohli stepped onto the field on the first day of the test, he completed his 600th international innings, becoming the first active cricketer to reach this landmark.

Kohli is only the third Indian cricketer to achieve this feat, after legendary batsmen Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. He also became the eighth cricketer globally to reach this milestone.

But the accolades didn’t stop there. Kohli also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most runs scored after 600 international innings. He now holds the distinction of being the first batter in the world to have scored over 27,000 runs after playing 600 innings.

However, despite this historic achievement, Kohli was dismissed for just 4 runs. Despite a promising start to India’s innings, with Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal setting a new record for the highest opening partnership in Mumbai in 49 years, the team experienced a series of setbacks.

The Indian bowlers had earlier dominated New Zealand’s first innings, with Ravindra Jadeja taking 5 wickets and Washington Sundar claiming 4, resulting in the visitors being bowled out for 235 runs.

Despite the challenges, Kohli’s impressive milestone serves as a testament to his enduring success and dominance in international cricket.
