Sat Nov 02 00:18:55 UTC 2024: ## Andhra Pradesh Government Faces Criticism Over Road Conditions
**Visakhapatnam:** The Andhra Pradesh government is facing criticism for its neglect of road infrastructure in the state. While the ruling YSRCP government has been in power for the past five years, roads have deteriorated drastically, leading to traffic hazards and accidents.
Numerous vehicles have been damaged due to the poor road conditions, and citizens are facing hardships with frequent breakdowns and delays. In some areas, like the Kuneeru road in Parvatipuram, travel has become a nightmare due to deep potholes and crumbling tarmac.
However, the government has been accused of ignoring the plight of commuters and failing to address the issue despite repeated complaints. While the state government has allocated Rs. 100 lakhs for repairs on the Kuneeru road, many believe that the government’s response has been inadequate and has come too late.
In contrast, the previous TDP government, led by Chandrababu Naidu, has initiated efforts to improve road conditions. They are focusing on filling potholes as a first step, and have encouraged the involvement of panchayat officials in the process.
The district panchayat engineering department has already started identifying problem areas and preparing plans for repairs, utilizing funds from the panchayat financial institutions. While the government’s recent initiatives are commendable, the public remains concerned about the years of neglect and the long-term plan to improve road infrastructure across Andhra Pradesh.
