**Muradabad, Uttar Pradesh:** A constable, Kapil Kumar, who shot himself with his service rifle in front of his fiancee, a woman constable, at a police station in Muradabad, has succumbed to his injuries. He breathed his last at the Cosmos Hospital in the city.
The deceased’s family has accused his fiancee, Vandana, of being responsible for his suicide. The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to SP City Ran Vijay Singh, a post-mortem has been conducted and the investigation is underway. While the family has blamed Vandana for the suicide, no written complaint has been filed yet.
Kapil and Vandana were engaged to be married on November 10th. The police are awaiting a formal complaint from the family before proceeding with further action.
