Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu made the announcement. The scheme was originally launched on October 21, 2016, to enhance regional air connectivity. It has facilitated the establishment of numerous regional airlines and created job opportunities, contributing to the growth of the tourism sector in the country. Under this scheme, 601 flight routes and 71 airports have been made available.
