**Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir:** The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday appointed senior National Conference leader Nasir Aslam Wani as advisor to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Wani, a close confidante of Abdullah, previously served as Minister of State during Abdullah’s first tenure from 2009 to 2014, holding various ministerial portfolios.
The appointment was announced in an order issued by the General Administration Department. The terms and conditions of Wani’s appointment will be notified separately.
Wani, who contested the recent assembly elections from the Kupwara seat but lost, currently serves as the NC provincial president of Kashmir.
