**Pathanamthitta:** The Sabarimala temple opened its doors on Wednesday evening for the Thulamasam poojas. The temple was opened by the Chief Priest, P.N. Mahesh Namboodiri, in the presence of Tantri Kandarar Rajeev.
The Thulamasam poojas will conclude on November 21st, after which the temple will be closed for the next phase of rituals.
**New Chief Priests to be Selected through Lottery**
Meanwhile, a lottery draw will be conducted on Thursday, October 1st, to select the new Chief Priests for Sabarimala and Malikappuram. The draw will be held in the presence of the Tantri Kandarar Rajeev, his son Kandarar Brahmadatan, Devaswom Board President P.S. Prasanth, Board Members Aji Kumar and G. Sundareshan, and the Special Commissioner and District Judge R. Jayakrishnan.
Rishikesh Varma from the Pandalam Palace will draw the name for Sabarimala, while M. Vaishnavi will draw for Malikappuram. A list of 25 candidates for Sabarimala and 15 candidates for Malikappuram are shortlisted for the draw.
