**Kozhikode, October 14, 2024:** The BJP has accused the Kerala government and the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) of implementing “weird reforms” at the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple.
State BJP general secretary M.T. Ramesh claimed on Monday that the government and the board are deliberately making life difficult for Ayyappa devotees by failing to address critical infrastructure issues at Sabarimala and Pamba. He also criticized the proposed removal of the spot booking facility, a system mandated by the Kerala High Court.
“The hill shrine is not a ‘government centre,'” Ramesh stated, demanding that the government consult with various organizations involved in the pilgrimage before implementing any changes. He alleged that the government is ignoring the needs of devotees and is instead plotting to disrupt the pilgrimage.
