Tue Oct 15 16:50:00 UTC 2024: ## John Deere Expands Remanufacturing Facility in Missouri, Boosting Local Economy
**STRAFFORD, MISSOURI (October 14, 2024)** – John Deere announced plans today to expand its John Deere Reman Core Center facility in Strafford, Missouri, by 120,000 square feet. This $13.5 million investment will bring the facility’s total footprint to 400,000 square feet. Construction is set to begin mid-2025 and be completed in 2026.
The expansion is a testament to John Deere’s commitment to the Reman business and the local community, according to Kevin Schrag, Manager, John Deere Reman. “Our dedicated employees have made this investment possible,” Schrag stated, emphasizing the facility’s contribution to the local economy and the company’s focus on sustainability.
The Strafford facility, one of several John Deere Reman facilities in the Springfield region, specializes in remanufacturing parts and components. This process involves bringing components back to their original John Deere specifications, or better, using a variety of techniques. This not only extends the lifespan of products but also reduces the environmental impact of manufacturing.
The John Deere Reman business, started 26 years ago as a joint venture with Springfield Remanufacturing Corporation, now employs over 500 people. It provides over 2,000 different remanufactured products to customers worldwide, exporting one-third of its production. This expansion is expected to create new jobs and further bolster the regional economy.
John Deere is a global leader in agricultural, turf, construction, and forestry equipment. The company is committed to helping customers achieve greater productivity and sustainability, as exemplified by its technology-enabled products like the John Deere Autonomous 8R Tractor, See & Spray™, and E-Power Backhoe.
