Tue Oct 15 17:23:24 UTC 2024: ## Gandhian Principles Still Relevant Today, Speakers Emphasize at Sarvodaya Yatra Book Release
**Nagpur, October 14, 2024:** A book release ceremony for the Sarvodaya Yatra memorial book, honoring the life and work of Dr. Gangaprasad Agrawal, was held at MGM University’s Einstein Auditorium on Friday. The event highlighted the enduring relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of nonviolent resistance in today’s world.
Senior Gandhi scholar Kumar Prashantji, speaking at the ceremony, emphasized the core of Gandhi’s teachings, stating that “true victory is winning without killing.” He praised Dr. Agrawal for his dedication to the principles of Gandhi, Vinoba Bhave, and Jayaprakash Narayan. Prashantji stressed the need for focusing on positive alternatives in all aspects of life – education, politics, economy, and society.
MGM University Chancellor Ankushrao Kadam echoed the importance of Gandhi’s legacy, noting that his birth anniversary is celebrated in 190 countries. He underlined the crucial role of sharing Gandhi’s message of unity and harmony, particularly in the face of challenges like the partition, which deeply troubled Gandhi.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vilas Sapkal highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of the Sarvodaya Yatra memorial book, encompassing themes of agriculture, politics, and social work. This broad perspective, he said, makes the book an invaluable resource for students.
The event concluded with the singing of Jai Jagat and a vote of thanks from Principal Ashok Chindurwar.
