Tue Oct 15 10:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Actor Bala Arrested for Outraging Woman’s Modesty, Disturbing Daughter

**Kochi, Kerala:** Actor Bala, known for his work in Malayalam cinema, was arrested on Monday morning following a complaint filed by his ex-wife, singer-composer Amritha Suressh. Bala, who is also the brother of Tamil director Siva, is facing charges of outraging a woman’s modesty and disturbing their 12-year-old daughter.

Amritha alleged that Bala insulted her through social media and his videos caused emotional harm to their daughter. She also claimed that Bala violated their divorce agreement by engaging in personal attacks, stating, “He is constantly disturbing me and my 12-year-old daughter, even giving paid online interviews about us.”

Bala was arrested alongside his manager Rajesh. Both are expected to be presented in court later today. However, Bala’s lawyer Fathima Siddique stated that he plans to approach the Kerala High Court to quash the case.

Previously, Bala had claimed that Amritha was preventing him from seeing their daughter. However, the 12-year-old subsequently posted a video on social media, detailing the emotional distress she and her mother have faced due to Bala’s actions.

Apart from Malayalam films, Bala has also acted in Tamil and Telugu cinema. His most recent appearance was in director Omar’s controversial film “Bad Boyz” (2024).

The arrest comes amidst separate communal clashes in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, where a man died and tensions remain high in Maharajganj town. Prohibitory orders and internet services have been suspended as police investigate the violence that erupted during a Durga idol procession. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to meet with the victim’s family.
