Mon Oct 14 08:22:44 UTC 2024: ## Kannada Actor Darshan’s Bail Plea in Murder Case Adjourned: Eyewitness Placement Alleged
**Bengaluru, India:** The bail plea of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa in connection with the murder case of his fan Renuka Swamy has been adjourned by a Bengaluru court until October 14. The court is set to issue its order on the bail request of both Darshan and his partner Pavithra Gowda, who are the primary accused in the case.
Darshan’s legal counsel has alleged that the eyewitness in the case was placed by the police and that the tower locations and IP addresses of the accused have been tampered with. He also stated that Darshan was unaware of Renuka Swamy until June 5th, when Pavithra Gowda stopped communicating with him due to his travel with his wife.
The prosecution, represented by Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Prasanna Kumar, countered these arguments, highlighting the presence of 76-79 witnesses at the shed where the crime took place. They also pointed out that mobile tower locations and call details of both the accused and witnesses placed them at the scene.
Darshan had previously confessed to kicking Renuka Swamy in the chest and private areas. The SPP argued that the call data should not be disregarded as evidence and that the Supreme Court has acknowledged its relevance.
The court will now consider all arguments before making its decision on October 14th.
