Mon Oct 14 09:21:35 UTC 2024: ## Kannada Superstar Darshan’s Bail Plea Reserved, Verdict on October 14th

**Bengaluru, India:** The fate of Kannada superstar Darshan, accused in a murder case, remains in limbo as a Karnataka court reserved its order on his bail plea until October 14th. The decision on the bail plea of his partner Pavithra Gowda, the prime accused in the case, will also be announced on the same date.

The court heard arguments from Darshan’s senior counsel, C.V. Nagesh, who claimed the eyewitness in the fan’s murder case was planted by the police. He argued that the tower locations and IP addresses of the accused could be tampered with and questioned their reliability. Nagesh further asserted that Darshan was unaware of the deceased fan, Renukaswamy, until June 5th, as Pavithra Gowda was not communicating with him at that time.

The Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Prasanna Kumar countered these arguments, stating that call records and tower locations of 76-79 witnesses placed Darshan and Pavithra Gowda at the crime scene in Pattanagere. He highlighted Darshan’s confession in a statement where he admitted to kicking Renukaswamy in the chest and private parts.

Renukaswamy’s body was found dumped in a drain at Sumanahalli, and 17 individuals, including Darshan and Pavithra Gowda, were arrested in connection with the murder on June 11th. The 3,991-page charge sheet submitted to the court on September 4th detailed the graphic events leading to Renukaswamy’s death, alleging he was kidnapped and held captive by Darshan’s associates before being attacked by the actor.

The court’s decision on the bail pleas is awaited with anticipation, potentially offering a crucial turning point in this high-profile case.
