**Hyderabad, October 7, 2024:** Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra and Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal have engaged in a heated online exchange on X (formerly Twitter) regarding the company’s service network. Aggarwal labelled Kamra a “flop comedian” after the latter raised concerns about Ola Electric scooters’ poor servicing, questioning the viability of EV adoption in India. Kamra responded by calling Aggarwal “Elon Musk” and criticizing his handling of customer issues.
The dispute arose from Kamra’s public criticism of Ola Electric’s servicing network, which has faced numerous complaints from customers. He questioned on X whether the company’s service woes would deter potential EV buyers in India. Aggarwal countered by stating that Ola has sufficient programs in place for customers facing service delays and challenged Kamra to “do some real work” instead of armchair criticism.
Aggarwal’s comments, which included offering Kamra a job at Ola’s service center, sparked a flurry of reactions on social media. While some supported Aggarwal’s stance, many pointed out the validity of Kamra’s concerns, citing ongoing customer complaints and the recent decline in Ola Electric scooter sales.
The public spat comes at a time when Ola Electric is facing challenges, including a decline in its share price, which dropped by 8% on Monday. Since its launch in August, the company has struggled to gain traction in the market, witnessing a 20% drop in its valuation in the past month alone.
The online feud has brought to light concerns regarding the company’s service network and its ability to effectively address customer issues.
