**New Delhi, October 04, 2024:** The highly anticipated Prime Minister Internship Scheme, launched just a week ago, has already garnered over 90,800 internship opportunities from 193 companies, according to sources within the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The scheme, announced in the Union Budget 2024, aims to provide one crore internships to youth between the ages of 21 and 24 over the next five years.

Companies such as Maruti Suzuki, Reliance Industries, Eicher Motor, Larsen & Toubro, Jubilant Foodworks, and Muthoot Finance are among those offering internship roles. The opportunities span 24 sectors, with the largest number coming from the oil, gas & energy sector, followed by travel & hospitality, automotive, and banking and financial services.

The internship program offers a wide range of fields, including operations management, production & manufacturing, maintenance, sales & marketing, and more. Applications are received from across the country, encompassing 737 districts in 36 states and Union Territories.

Internships are set to commence on December 02, 2024, with an initial 1.25 lakh candidates expected to participate in the financial year 2024-25. Each intern will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 for 12 months, along with a one-time grant of ₹6,000.

The program is widely seen as a positive step towards bridging the gap between education and employment and fostering a skilled workforce.
