Sun Oct 13 14:51:00 UTC 2024: ## Government Launches Pilot Internship Scheme for Unemployed Youth

**New Delhi, October 13, 2024:** The Indian government launched a pilot project on Saturday, offering nearly 91,000 internship opportunities to unemployed youth across 24 sectors. The ambitious “Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme in Top Companies” (TPISTPS) aims to provide real-world workplace experience to young individuals.

The program, which launched its official portal on October 3 for companies to submit internship offers, is now open to candidates. Aspiring interns can register on the portal [https://pminternship.mca.gov.in] from 5 p.m. onwards using an Aadhaar-based system.

The scheme boasts opportunities in 737 districts across India for individuals aged 21-24. The application window remains open until October 25, and selected interns are expected to begin their year-long tenures with companies on December 2.

The portal features tools to assist candidates in generating a bio-data based on their basic details. The government will match candidates’ qualifications, residential pin codes, and preferences with company requirements and locations. The program prioritizes offering internships within the candidates’ own or neighboring districts; if this is not feasible, they will be assigned opportunities within their state.
