Fri Oct 11 14:30:59 UTC 2024: ## “Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” Flops on Opening Day, While “Jigra” Also Struggles

**Mumbai, India** – The new release “Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri opened to a disappointing start, earning only Rs 1.97 crore on its first day. This dismal performance comes despite the film’s release during the festive period of Navratri.

The film, directed by Raaj Shaandhilyaa, faced tough competition from Alia Bhatt’s “Jigra,” which also saw a weak opening with a collection of Rs 1.61 crore. Both films witnessed low occupancy rates in theaters, with “Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” registering 12.87% and “Jigra” recording 14.83%.

“Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” is likely to become one of Rajkummar Rao’s lowest opening films, trailing behind his previous releases like “Srikanth” and “Mr and Mrs Mahi.” This poor performance comes as a surprise given Rao’s previous success in films like “Stree 2,” which garnered over Rs 855 crore worldwide.

Meanwhile, Triptii Dimri, who has previously starred in successful films like “Bad Newz” and “Animal,” is also facing a box office setback with this new release.

The underwhelming performance of both films highlights the current trend of audiences favoring big-budget, star-studded films over smaller, content-driven projects.
