Tue Oct 08 15:31:01 UTC 2024: ## Alyssa Healy Reaches Milestone, Becomes Second Australian Woman to Score 3,000 WT20I Runs
**Sharjah, UAE** – Australian captain Alyssa Healy has etched her name in the history books by becoming the second Australian cricketer to reach 3,000 runs in Women’s T20 Internationals (WT20Is). Healy achieved this milestone during Australia’s match against New Zealand in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, needing just nine runs to reach the mark.
Healy, a veteran of 161 WT20Is since her debut in 2011, has consistently been a dominant force in the Australian batting lineup. Her impressive strike rate of over 129, the best among players with at least 2,000 WT20I runs, reflects her aggressive style and ability to score quickly. Only Meg Lanning, with 3,405 runs, sits above Healy in the list of Australian WT20I run-scorers.
Healy’s achievement places her among an elite group of eight players worldwide to have achieved this milestone in WT20Is. She also holds the record for the highest individual WT20I score among full-member team players, a magnificent 148* against Sri Lanka in 2019. Healy further adds to her impressive resume with the highest number of WT20I runs as a wicketkeeper, exceeding 2,700.
Healy’s impact extends to the Women’s T20 World Cup, where she has amassed over 950 runs in 41 matches. Her remarkable strike rate of over 128 is the best among players with 300 or more runs in the tournament. Healy also ranks second in the competition for the most 50+ scores, with seven impressive innings. Only Suzie Bates (NZ), Meg Lanning (AUS) and Stafanie Taylor (WI) have scored more runs in the tournament’s history.
