Tue Oct 08 15:50:42 UTC 2024: ## Vedanta Shares Rise Despite Production Challenges
Vedanta Ltd shares climbed slightly on Friday despite the company reporting a mixed performance in the second quarter of fiscal year 25 (FY25). While the company achieved record-high aluminium production in both the quarter and the first half of the fiscal year, other segments faced challenges.
Vedanta recorded its highest ever quarterly and half-yearly aluminium production, reaching 1,205 kilotonnes in the first half of FY25. Alumina production also saw a significant 21% year-on-year increase during the same period.
Zinc India also set a new high for mined metal, with refined metal production rising 5% year-on-year to 524 kilotonnes in the first half. However, the company’s steel production was impacted by planned maintenance and debottlenecking activities in the second quarter.
Despite these challenges, Vedanta’s board will consider and approve the fourth interim dividend for FY25 at its meeting on Tuesday, October 8th.
The stock was trading at Rs 512.05, up 0.05% in early trading on Friday.
