The action film “Yudhra,” starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Malavika Mohanan, had a promising start on National Cinema Day, earning Rs 4.5 crore domestically. The film, which benefitted from Rs 99 ticket pricing, had over 2200 shows on its opening day, outperforming “The Buckingham Murders” with almost double the screenings.
Despite mixed reviews, “Yudhra” enjoyed an occupancy of 46.54%, with strong night show attendance. The film’s release coincided with “Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam,” which earned Rs 1.05 crore on its opening day.
“Yudhra” placed second on National Cinema Day, behind “Stree 2” which garnered Rs 4.75 crore. Industry experts predict that “Yudhra” needs to earn over Rs 50 crore to be deemed a success, considering its reported budget of Rs 50 crore.
The film faces no major competition in the coming days, suggesting a promising weekend box office collection.
“Yudhra” marks Siddhant Chaturvedi’s sixth film and fourth big screen release, following successful outings in “Gully Boy,” “Bunty Aur Babli 2,” and “Phone Bhoot.” The film also stars Raghav Juyal in a pivotal role.
