**Pleasanton, CA** – A woman initially believed to be the victim of a home invasion has been arrested for the murder of her boyfriend, authorities revealed.

Kennedy Stith, 27, was taken into custody on September 12th following a year-long investigation into the death of Edevion White, 32. White was found deceased at his apartment on Owens Drive on May 1st, 2023.

Stith initially claimed two masked men had broken into their apartment and killed White. However, Pleasanton detectives determined this story to be false. The investigation revealed that Stith had fatally stabbed White in the chest at their apartment.

Stith has been charged with murder by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office. According to police, she was manipulative and controlling, allegedly forcing White to sell drugs to pay bills.

The Pleasanton Police Department expressed condolences to White’s family and friends and assured the community of their commitment to their safety. Stith is currently being held at the Santa Rita Jail without bail.
