Sat Sep 21 04:52:24 UTC 2024: ## Bumrah Reaches 400 Wickets, Warns Youngsters Against Copying his Bowling Action
**Chennai, India:** Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who recently achieved the milestone of 400 international wickets, expressed his happiness at inspiring young cricketers while also cautioning them against imitating his unconventional bowling action.
Bumrah, instrumental in India’s dominant performance against Bangladesh in the first Test at Chennai, said, “I don’t recommend children to copy my bowling action. You know, I was a fan of fast bowling when I was a kid. I learned by watching television and fell in love with the sport. Sometimes when I see children trying to copy my action, I don’t recommend it. But it’s what it is. You get inspired by something and try to find your own way.”
Despite his success, Bumrah remains grounded, acknowledging the fluctuations of the sport and his own approach to criticism and praise. “I try to give my absolute best, focusing on what I can do. I wanted to play for India, and I’m doing that. No complaints. I want to give my best for as long as I can,” he stated.
Bumrah’s four-wicket haul on day two helped restrict Bangladesh to a low score, contributing to India’s strong lead. The Indian team had previously lost their top order cheaply but recovered thanks to impressive performances from Ravichandran Ashwin (113) and Ravindra Jadeja (86*).
The match saw Bangladesh electing to field first, and India eventually ending day three at 81/3 with Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant unbeaten, securing a substantial lead of 308 runs.
