Fri Sep 20 04:55:03 UTC 2024: ## Sandringham Dominates Dandenong in Under-19 Grand Final

**Morrabbin, VIC:** Sandringham Dragons stormed to a convincing 94-43 victory over Dandenong Stingrays in the Under-19 Coates League Grand Final at RSEA Park on Sunday. Despite a strong start from the Stingrays, the Dragons’ class shone through in a dominant second-half display.

Dandenong came out firing, with Elwood Peckett, Cooper Hynes, and Harvey Langford spearheading a two-goal lead early. The Stingrays’ midfield, while undersized compared to Sandringham’s star-studded unit, held their own in the early stages.

However, Sandringham’s superior spread and experience allowed them to gain control of the game by the end of the first quarter, leading by 14 points.

A seven-goal-to-one onslaught in the second quarter effectively sealed the game for the Dragons. Despite a valiant effort from the Stingrays, Sandringham’s dominance continued into the third quarter, leaving the game beyond reach.

Despite the loss, the Stingrays had a season to celebrate. Riak Andrew, who shut down Sandringham’s Harry Armstrong, had an outstanding finals campaign, while Jordan Doherty, Sam Toner, Charlie Orchard, and Noah Mraz all gained recognition from AFL clubs.

Sandringham will now face GWV in the Coates League decider this week.
