Sat Sep 21 05:50:53 UTC 2024: ## Bumrah Shines as India Dominates Bangladesh in First Test

**Chennai, India:** Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah produced a stellar performance in the first innings of the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh, claiming four wickets for 50 runs to help India bowl out the visitors for a paltry 149 runs.

Bumrah, who opened the bowling attack, struck early, dismissing opener Shadman Islam in the very first over. He went on to claim the scalps of Mushfiqur Rahim, Hasan Mahmud, and Taskin Ahmed, finishing as India’s top wicket-taker in the innings.

Former Indian batsman Sanjay Manjrekar was effusive in his praise for Bumrah, highlighting the pacer’s ability to adapt to any conditions. “He is a bowler without a weakness,” Manjrekar stated, praising Bumrah’s “sharp thinking” and “meanness” on the field. “Indian cricket is so fortunate to have him in their side,” he added.

Manjrekar’s admiration for Bumrah was echoed in a tweet where he declared the pacer to be “a bowler with just strengths, zero weakness.”

Other Indian bowlers contributing to the dominant performance included Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Ravindra Jadeja, who each picked up two wickets. India took a commanding 227-run lead, dismissing Bangladesh in just 47.1 overs.

While the first innings saw a rare wicketless outing for the world’s No. 1 Test bowler, Ravichandran Ashwin, he made the match memorable for himself by smashing a century on the first day of the Test.
