Fri Sep 20 06:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Clare Dominate All-Star Hurling Nominations with 14 Players on the List

**Dublin, October 26th, 2024:** Clare have stormed into the All-Star Hurling nominations with a record-breaking 14 players included, reflecting their dominant Liam MacCarthy Cup victory this year. The Banner County boasts the largest representation on the 45-player list, surpassing even All-Ireland finalists Cork, who have 10 nominees.

This impressive haul surpasses Clare’s previous record of 13 nominations set in 2013, their last All-Ireland triumph. The only starting player from their 2024 final team not nominated is Cathal Malone.

Among the nominees are Shane O’Donnell, Kyle Hayes, and Darragh Fitzgibbon, who make up the shortlist for Hurler of the Year. Clare also have three contenders for Young Hurler of the Year: Adam Hogan, Eoin Downey, and Cathal O’Neill.

While the Banner County dominates the nominations, other counties are also well represented. Limerick boasts nine nominees, followed by Cork with 10, Kilkenny with four, and Waterford, Wexford, Dublin, and Antrim with two each.

The nominations reflect the recent trend of All-Ireland hurling champions leading the way in the All-Star voting. Limerick, the reigning champions, also received 14 nominations last year.

With the All-Stars banquet scheduled for November 1st, anticipation is high to see how many of these Clare players will make the final 15-player team. The impressive season, featuring league and All-Ireland titles, has put several Banner players in strong contention for the prestigious awards.
