Fri Sep 20 06:03:28 UTC 2024: ## Global Hunt for Hezbollah Pagers Leads to Norway and Bulgaria

**Beirut, Lebanon/Oslo, Norway –** The hunt for the source of the deadly pagers used in the recent Hezbollah attacks in Lebanon has taken a new turn, with investigators now focusing on potential links in Norway and Bulgaria.

The explosions, which killed 12 and injured thousands, were initially blamed on Israel, though the country has not confirmed any involvement. The investigation has revealed a complex web of companies and individuals allegedly involved in the pager supply chain, raising questions about how and when the devices were weaponized.

While the Taiwanese company Gold Apollo denied manufacturing the pagers, the investigation pointed to a Hungarian company, BAC Consulting, and a Bulgarian firm, Norta Global Ltd, as potential players in the supply chain.

Norta, based in Sofia, Bulgaria, is suspected of facilitating the sale of the pagers to Hezbollah. Local media reported that 1.6 million euros related to the transaction passed through Bulgaria before being sent to Hungary.

The founder of Norta, Rinson Jose, is based in Norway and works for DN Media. Oslo police have initiated preliminary inquiries into Jose’s involvement, while Norway’s domestic intelligence agency is also aware of the situation.

The Hungarian company BAC Consulting, owned by Cristiana Barsony-Arcidiacono, claims it was only an intermediary in the sale. However, Barsony-Arcidiacono has been evasive about her role and has since vacated her Budapest apartment.

A Lebanese security source suggested that Hezbollah believed they were ordering the pagers from Gold Apollo and that they were manufactured in Asia, not Europe. The source speculated that Israel’s Mossad spy agency might have created a European company to facilitate the operation.

As the investigation continues, the focus has shifted to Norway and Bulgaria, raising concerns about the potential involvement of these countries in the supply chain of the deadly pagers used in the recent Hezbollah attacks.
