Chennai, India – Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has achieved a significant milestone, reaching 400 international wickets and becoming the sixth Indian seamer to do so. However, despite his success on Day 2 of the first Test against Bangladesh, where he claimed 4/50 in 11 overs, Bumrah has urged young fans to not mimic his bowling action.
Bumrah, a renowned fast bowler, has a unique and highly effective action that has captivated fans worldwide. Many children can be seen attempting to replicate his technique. While acknowledging the impact he has had on young cricketers, Bumrah stressed that he does not want them to copy his action.
“I don’t know what to say. When I was growing up, I was a fan of fast bowling. I learned about it through television. I fell in love with cricket like that,” Bumrah said. “I don’t want kids to copy my bowling action, but sometimes you can’t do anything about it. I am pleased that I have left an impact on children. It is always nice to achieve your targets.”
Bumrah’s impressive performance helped India dismiss Bangladesh for 149 runs, giving the hosts a 227-run first innings lead. His return to the team after a long break since the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 has been a welcome sight for Indian cricket fans.
