Fri Sep 20 08:04:48 UTC 2024: ## Purdue Looks to Bounce Back from Notre Dame Disaster in Oregon

**WEST LAFAYETTE, IN** – The Purdue Boilermakers are aiming to erase the memory of their humiliating 66-7 loss to Notre Dame last week as they head to Corvallis, Oregon to face the Oregon State Beavers.

Following the defeat, Boilermaker All-American defensive lineman Dillon Thieneman took responsibility for the team’s performance, stating that the leaders, including himself, needed to step up and carry on.

While the loss was a blow, Purdue has quickly shifted focus to the upcoming game against Oregon State, who boast a strong rushing attack led by running backs Anthony Hankerson and Jam Griffin.

The Boilermakers will be looking to improve their offensive line, a unit that was dominated by Notre Dame, allowing for only 162 yards of total offense. Offensive tackle Corey Stewart emphasized the team’s dedication to improving, stating they are “attacking it every day, not taking a rep off.”

Head Coach Ryan Walters cautioned against judging the team solely on the Notre Dame game, reminding everyone of Purdue’s strong performance during spring, summer, and fall camp.

Whether the Boilermakers can overcome the setback and regain their form remains to be seen. But for now, they are focusing on bouncing back and proving that their performance against Notre Dame was an anomaly, not a reflection of their true potential.
