**New Delhi:** Deepak Gupta, a relative of former BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover, has been arrested by the Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in connection with allegations of misappropriating funds from the fintech company. The arrest comes amidst the ongoing legal battle between BharatPe and Grover, who was ousted from the company in 2022 due to accusations of financial misconduct.

Gupta is currently in custody at the EOW Police Station and is expected to be presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate at Saket Court. Authorities are likely to seek his custody to further investigate the case.

This arrest marks a significant development in the BharatPe-Grover saga. The conflict began with accusations of financial irregularities and misuse of company funds.

Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court granted permission for Ashneer Grover and his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover, to travel internationally, allowing them to visit the United Kingdom and Doha for pre-scheduled events. This decision comes despite opposition from the Delhi Police, who had previously issued a Look Out Circular restricting their movement.

The EOW investigation into BharatPe’s alleged financial fraud is ongoing, with the estimated amount of fraud reaching ₹81 crores.
