**LAMJUNG, NEPAL – September 20, 2024:** The popular Annapurna trekking route in Nepal is experiencing a surge in tourist arrivals, with over 150 trekkers arriving daily. This surge is a welcome sight for local businesses, particularly hoteliers, who are seeing increased occupancy rates and improved economic activity.

The Annapurna route, the second most popular trekking destination in Nepal after the Khumbu region, has seen a significant increase in visitor numbers since the start of the tourist season. This year, 12,355 trekkers have already explored the route, a significant jump compared to 10,897 during the same period last year.

French nationals currently make up the largest group of visitors, followed by travelers from Israel, Germany, and India. Tourists are drawn to the breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the challenging hilly terrain, with many trekking from Mustang to Pokhara via the Thorong La Pass.

The influx of tourists is a positive sign for the Nepali tourism industry, which has been struggling to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. This surge in trekking activity is a testament to the enduring allure of Nepal’s stunning natural beauty and the popularity of the Annapurna route.
