Fri Sep 20 07:46:21 UTC 2024: ## Sydney Sixers Expand Their Reach with Coffs Harbour Cricket League

**COFFS HARBOUR, NSW -** The Sydney Sixers have officially launched the **Sixers Cricket League (SCL)** in partnership with Cricket NSW and the Coffs Harbour District Cricket Association (CHDCA), solidifying their commitment to the region. This rebranded competition aims to boost cricket participation and fan engagement throughout the Coffs Coast, with a focus on creating a more unified and vibrant cricketing community.

The SCL officially kicked off with a “Come and Try Day” at Leisure Park in Coffs Harbour, attracting eager cricketers from across the region. The league will encompass nine CHDCA clubs and three nearby associations, encompassing areas from Macksville to Woolgoolga, Urunga to Dorrigo, and Sawtell to Nana Glen.

This initiative comes as the Sixers prepare to host the Brisbane Heat at C.ex Coffs International Stadium on January 3rd, marking their second BBL match in the region. The SCL is designed to strengthen the connection between the Sydney Sixers and the Coffs Harbour community beyond the single BBL game, fostering a year-round engagement.

The SCL will offer competitions across various age groups, including U12, U14, U16, and Senior Grades, with the latter featuring six teams in each of the four divisions. To promote inclusivity, the Fourth Grade competition encourages junior players to participate alongside their parents, creating a familial and fun environment.

Aaron Singh, President of the CHDCA, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that the rebranding as the Sixers Cricket League will be instrumental in growing the sport in the community. Martin Gleeson, Cricket NSW’s Chief Community Cricket Officer, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the partnership’s potential to enhance the development of cricket in the region and solidify the connection with the Sydney Sixers.

The SCL is expected to be a major success, bringing together cricketers from across the Coffs Coast and promoting a sense of camaraderie and friendly rivalry. The initiative highlights the Sydney Sixers’ commitment to grassroots cricket and community engagement, ensuring that the love of the game flourishes in Coffs Harbour and its surrounding areas.
