**Hyderabad, India** – Renowned Telugu choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, known as Jani Master, has been arrested in Goa on charges of rape under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The arrest follows a complaint filed by a 21-year-old woman who alleges that Jani Master sexually assaulted her for six years, starting when she was 16.

The arrest has sparked controversy, with Jani Master’s wife, Ayesha, publicly denying the allegations. In an interview with TV9 news, Ayesha stated that she believes the claims are baseless, and that her husband has never been involved in any form of sexual misconduct. She further questioned the timing of the complaint, noting that it came six years after the alleged incidents.

Ayesha expressed her disbelief over why the woman had not come forward earlier, especially given her public statements of gratitude towards Jani Master. “The complainant said in many TV interviews that she owes her career to Master and is grateful to him,” Ayesha said. “How is it that she has never complained before? And how is it that after being on her own for the last one year, she suddenly surfaces to lodge a complaint against him?”

The complainant, however, submitted a 40-page document detailing her experiences, stating that Jani Master began abusing her when she was 16 and continued for six years during outdoor film shoots in multiple cities. Due to the alleged abuse of a minor, the POCSO clause was added to the FIR.

The Telangana State Commission for Women has provided police protection to the survivor, while Jani Master has not yet released a statement addressing the allegations. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to be released in the coming days.
