**Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh:** A lab report from NDDB CALF, a Gujarat-based private laboratory, has reportedly confirmed the presence of beef fat and fish oil in the famous ‘prasadam’ laddus offered at the Tirupati temple during the tenure of the YSRCP government.

The report, dated July 16th, 2024, analyzed a sample received on July 9th and identified beef tallow, lard, fish oil, and palm oil as components of the ghee used in making the laddus.

This revelation comes after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused the previous YSRCP regime of using substandard ingredients and animal fat instead of pure ghee for the temple’s prasadam. Naidu, whose TDP is currently in alliance with the BJP and Jana Sena, claimed that under his government, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) now uses pure ghee, ensuring the highest quality for the prasadam.

While TDP spokesperson Anam Venkata Ramana Reddy presented the purported lab report during a press conference, the opposition YSRCP has vehemently denied the allegations.

The revelation has sparked controversy and raised concerns about the quality control and transparency of the temple’s food offerings. The incident is expected to further escalate tensions between the ruling TDP and the opposition YSRCP.
